Jewish Family Services (JFS) is in the midst of its 2023 Hanukkah Project, providing Hanukkah gifts for more than 300 individuals (including older adults and children) in the community who are facing challenges.
With the pain felt at home as the Israel-Hamas War continues abroad, the organization is calling upon the Jewish community to help support and cheer up its clients.
JFS relies on the community to support the project through financial donations and gift cards. Gift cards allow client individuals and families to choose items for themselves, to get the correct sizes and styles, shop for groceries or surprise a family member. JFS requests that gift cards be from Target, Walmart or Amazon, in $25 increments.
Donations can be made online, mailed or delivered to the JFS offices at the Jewish Community Campus. JFS requests gift cards be in $25 increments. Financial donations may also be made through JFS’s website, jfskc.org/donate-now-hanukkah-project.
JFS also invites the community to participate in the upcoming Hanukkah Wrapping Party on Wednesday, Nov. 29 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. in the social hall of the Campus. Participants can sign up by clicking “Hanukkah Volunteer” on the JFS website.
JFS also needs volunteers to deliver gifts to its homebound clients on Monday, Dec. 4 and Tuesday, Dec. 5. Those interested can email .
