The Jewish community is invited to come together to prepare for the High Holy Days at the annual community Selichot program and service on Saturday, Sept. 9.
The Temple, Congregation B’nai Jehudah, will host the service. There will be opportunities for multi-access participation.
The evening will begin with a dessert reception at 8 p.m. followed by Havdalah at 8:50 p.m. At 9 p.m., Rabbi Josh Feigelson, president and CEO of the Institute for Jewish Spirituality, will lead a discussion on “The Breath of Life: A Jewish Mindfulness Practice of Teshuva.”
The Selichot service will begin at 10:10 p.m. and is designed to help worshipers begin to spiritually prepare for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. The service will be led by area clergy and a musical leadership team of soloists from congregations across the community.
Selichot services will also take place at Kehilath Israel Synagogue and Congregation Beth Israel Abraham and Voliner.
