Amanda Morgan King will transition from her role of president and board chair at The Temple, Congregation B’nai Jehudah, to the synagogue’s executive director. The change will be effective on Sept. 1, 2023.
“I have been honored to serve the congregation as president these past two years, and look forward to continuing that service,” Morgan King told The Chronicle. “Growing and cultivating strong relationships among our members to ensure a thriving KC Jewish community will continue to be priority.”
B’nai Jehudah’s search committee spent months working to find a new executive director. The committee was led by Shari Barr and included Rick Klein, Shanny Morgenstern, Jeff Marks, Haley Haar, Joshua Maker and Debbie Ball.
Morgan King has been heavily involved with the Jewish community, especially with B’nai Jehudah and Jewish Federation of Greater Kansas City. In addition to being president and board chair of B’nai Jehudah, she is immediate past board chair of Federation. She also received the Dan Fingersh Young Leadership Award from Federation in 2016.
