The family of Bob and Ann Regnier — including Victor A. Regnier, Cathy Regnier, and Jon, Kate, Charlotte and Abe Bender — recently made a $150,000 gift to JFS in honor of their parents, Vic and Helen Regnier.
The gift was made to JFS on the occasion of its 120th anniversary. The Regniers are one of the families helping the agency celebrate its milestone.
More than a decade ago, JFS caught the eye of Bob Regnier, a Kansas City business and community leader. JFS drew Regnier into the organization’s semi-annual breakfasts and dinners. Since then, his involvement in and appreciation for the many JFS services has only grown.
In serving as a strong advocate and friend to the agency, Regnier recruited his wife, children, and siblings to join him in supporting JFS’ mission.
“I was impressed that JFS was a social service agency that helps anyone and everyone who is in need," he said. “I was also impressed that JFS was early in identifying mental health as a critical health need. The organization, I believe, is well focused and offers needed services and does so in a cost-efficient manner without significant overlap with other social service agencies.”
Supporting community organizations is a key tenet in the Regnier family.
“Our family is very honored to be involved in JFS' 120th Anniversary,” Ann Regnier said.
The Regniers’ parents, Vic and Helen Regnier, set a wonderful example of family involvement in the community. At a reception thanking the Regniers for their commitment to JFS, Cathy Regnier talked about the importance of generational role models.
“My dad would be proud to know that our family is actively involved in JFS in a meaningful way,” she said.
