Jewish Family Services is looking for support and volunteers to help with its Passover Meals program this year.
Approximately 225 families in the community will be served through the Passover Meal program, each receiving a kit that includes items to celebrate a traditional seder meal. These items include grape juice, matzah ball soup mix, boxes of matzah, baking mixes, matzah cake meal, matzah meal and potato starch.
In addition, the kits will include fresh produce and chicken to round out the holiday meal. Some families will receive a meal already prepared for them.
Because of the high cost of groceries, JFS invites the public to financially support the Passover Meal program. A $54 donation will provide a family of four with a traditional Passover meal.
Donations can be made online at www.jfskc.org/passover/ or by mailing a check to JFS, 5801 W. 115th St. Ste 103, Overland Park, KS 66211. Please write “Passover Meals” in the memo line.
JFS is grateful for supporters of the Passover Meal program including Liberty Fruit, the Avrum and Clara Feinstein Mazon Fund and the Rabbinical Association of Greater Kansas City.
JFS also needs volunteers to deliver Passover meals to these families on Tuesday, April 4, before the holiday begins. To register, please visit signupgenius.com/go/70a0548a9ab2fa2fe3-2023#/.
