Cardiologist and Hadassah life member Dr. Rachel Sosland will address the No. 1 killer of women when she presents “Taking Women’s Health to Heart” on Tuesday, March 28, at 7 p.m. via Zoom.
Hadassah Greater Kansas City, the local affiliate of Hadassah, The Women’s Zionist Organization of America, is offering this program free to the community.
A member of the Hadassah Physicians Council, Dr. Sosland was the keynote speaker at the inaugural Hadassah Greater Kansas City Women’s Health Symposium in 2014. Since cardiovascular disease remains the top killer of women in the US and around the world, the local chapter chose to bring Dr. Sosland back so she could update its members and the community on women’s heart health.
Dr. Sosland received her medical training and completed a cardiology fellowship at the University of Kansas School of Medicine, where she was Chief Fellow of Cardiology. Among her areas of expertise are women's cardiovascular health, heart disease prevention, lipidology, atherosclerosis, and non-invasive imaging. Dr. Sosland is Division Director of Cardiology at Menorah Medical Center in Kansas City and a partner at Midwest Heart & Vascular Specialists. She has published and presented extensively on cardiovascular topics, nationally and internationally.
A Q&A will follow Dr. Sosland’s presentation. The program will also feature the latest information from the Linda Joy Pollin Cardiovascular Wellness Center for Women at Hadassah Hospital Ein Kerem. The hospital is part of the Hadassah Medical Organization, Hadassah’s medical center in Jerusalem.
