On March 4-5, the Jewish Community Center was host to a USAR-sanctioned racquetball tournament drawing players from seven states.
The event featured multiple divisions for both singles and doubles competition.
The J’s Senior Manager of Sports and Recreation Bob Hennecke was pleased with both the number and quality of the participants.
“It was exciting to see so many of the top players from the Midwest at The J competing,” he said. “The tournament provided an opportunity to showcase our top-notch facility.”
In addition to out of town competitors, several J members also participated. Four such players made it to the finals of the A Division in doubles. The team of Barry Fishman and Tyler Richard defeated the team of Jay Harms and Tony Totta to take first place in the A Doubles Division. J member Rosco Halsey and his partner Bradley Rogers won the Open Doubles championship.
In total, the two day event drew 80 participants.
