Jenna Brofsky, local attorney and community volunteer, has filed for re-election to the Fairway City Council, representing Ward 4.
This would be Brofsky’s second term on the council.
Brofsky is a partner at Husch Blackwell, representing clients in the areas of workplace and employment practice. She is a 2023 honoree for the Missouri Lawyers' Media Women's Justice Awards for her pro bono work on Afghan asylum cases.
Brofsky is also a participant in the Northeast Johnson County Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program. She is an active volunteer with Jewish Vocational Services (JVS), serving on their event committee to help raise money to assist refugees and persons with disabilities reach self-sufficiency.
Brofsky and husband Ethan Corson are active members of Congregation Kol Ami in Kansas City, Missouri.
Brofsky says her volunteer and non-profit work, along with her experience advocating for clients, have given her the skills to represent Ward 4 on the Fairway City Council for the past four years.
Brofsky moved to Kansas with her husband Ethan Corson, who grew up in Overland Park.
“Since the day I got here, I have felt welcome, and I value the opportunity to ensure others in the community feel the same,” she said. “It is important to ensure Fairway is the best community it can be, including consideration of policies that reflect who we are.”
Brofsky and Corson have a three-year-old son, Isaac, who was born during Brofsky’s first run for the Fairway City Council.
“It’s exciting to show our son the importance of civic engagement, particularly on the local level,” Brofsky says.
Mike Kelly, Chair of the Johnson County Commission, said, “Councilmember Brofsky continues to be an important leader for the City of Fairway. She is passionate, kind, and works tirelessly to ensure that Fairway remains one of the best cities in Johnson County, and that all people benefit from the city’s success.”
