“May you live until 120,″ a traditional Jewish blessing in remembrance of Moses’ long life, is an achievement Jewish Family Services is celebrating, having served the Greater Kansas City community for 120 years.
As part of the celebration, JFS is hosting a Birthday Bash on Sunday, April 23, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Jewish Community Campus, and the community is invited.
This free, family-friendly event will include hands-on service projects, birthday party and kid-friendly activities, a birthday-themed food drive and an interactive performance with Lisa Loeb, an American singer-songwriter who won a Grammy Award for Best Children’s Album.
Following the Birthday Bash, JFS will host a 120th Celebration on Thursday evening, Aug. 24, at The Madrid Theatre. Further details will be released soon.
The 120th Anniversary families for JFS include the Krigel, Regnier, Sosland, White and Fried families, and presenting sponsors/families for 120th Birthday Bash are the “Sunday Night Dinner Family” – Barnett, Epstein, Isenberg, Babs and Bill Lowenstein, House, and Poskin Families.
