This September, the Jewish Community Relations Bureau | AJC will be conducting its second “Antisemitism in Schools” survey to learn more about the experiences of Jewish middle and high school students in the Kansas City area.
JCRB | AJC conducted its first “Antisemitism in Schools” survey in August 2020. Since then, antisemitism has continued to rise throughout the country. Overall, according to AJC, 2021 was found to be the highest year on record for antisemitic incidents in the United States. In particular, Holocaust distortion related to the pandemic and anti-Zionism have become increasingly prevalent.
Through this second survey, JCRB|AJC seeks an updated understanding of what antisemitism looks like for Jewish students in 2022. The findings will help JCRB|AJC to continue supporting Jewish families and targeting their proactive education efforts with schools and students.
The digital survey will be open from Sept. 1 to 23. All Jewish students in grades 6 through 12 (and recently graduated high school seniors) from Kansas and Western Missouri are invited to participate in this survey. Participants will be entered into a raffle to win one of several Amazon eGift cards.
Information provided by students will be kept strictly confidential, however, data and anonymous responses may be shared publicly as part of JCRB|AJC’s work.
Adult members of the community are invited to encourage the Jewish students in their lives to take the survey. The survey can be accessed at jcrbajc.org/antisemitism-in-schools-survey.html. It will be promoted broadly by JCRB|AJC and their community partners via emails and social media.
