Jewish Family Services will host a Service of Spiritual Renewal for the High Holidays at 3 p.m., Sept. 11, at Village Shalom, 5500 W. 123rd St., in Overland Park.
The service is hosted by the Jewish Chaplaincy program, under the auspices of JFS. Individuals planning to attend the service in person must wear masks regardless of vaccination status. Masks will be provided for participants who need them.

Rabbi Lawrence Karol, a Kansas City native and rabbi emeritus of Temple Beth-El in Las Cruces, New Mexico, will join Rabbi Rudnick, Jewish community chaplain, and Lezlie Zucker, music coordinator for Congregation Beth Torah, in leading the service, which will include traditional and contemporary prayers, songs and readings. The service will also include moments for personal reflection and meaningful closure of the current year, combined with words of hope for the year ahead.
The service will be available virtually after the event for individuals who did not attend in person. The recording will be posted at jfskc/jewish-resources.
