Jewish Family Services, in partnership with the Rabbinical Association of Greater Kansas City, continues to help those in need by hosting community food drives at its two pantry locations.
With two locations serving more than 800 families monthly, JFS relies on the community to keep shelves stocked.
This month, JFS will hold its contactless community food drive on Sunday, Aug. 21, from 10 a.m. to noon in the front circle drive of the Jewish Community Campus, 5801 W. 115th St. in Overland Park. While the donation of all food, household goods and personal care items are appreciated, most needed items for August include canned chicken, canned vegetables and fruit, dried fruit and baby wipes.
In addition to the monthly Sunday drive, JFS accepts donations any weekday during business hours in the lobby of the Jewish Community Campus and every Tuesday from noon to 2 p.m. in designated barrels in front circle drive of the Jewish Community Campus and 425 E. 63rd St. in Brookside
Those wishing to donate at JFS’ Brookside location can do so by appointment by calling (816) 333-1172. Donations can be shipped directly to JFS by purchasing from the “JFS Pantry” Wish List on Amazon.
