Jewish Family Services recently announced several staff promotions enhancing its relationships with key stakeholders and partner programs.

Formerly the JFS Director of Volunteer Engagement, Taly Friedman has been named Director of Corporate Relations. Friedman joined JFS eight years ago and has significantly grown the agency’s volunteer program.

In her new role, Friedman will develop, implement, and oversee JFS’ corporate sponsorship program, which manages partnerships and sponsorships with the business community. Her deep knowledge of our services and constituents will help JFS successfully launch this endeavor.

Jo Hickey will be taking on the new role of Director of Pantry Partnerships. Jo joined JFS eight years ago and helped to open the pantry’s second location at the agency’s Brookside office. Hickey has helped to expand the pantry’s efforts on many fronts as it has grown to serve more than 800 families monthly.  With her extensive community network and deep knowledge of charitable food assistance, Hickey is poised to lead JFS’ efforts to bolster support for growing pantry needs. 

Melanie Hayden first joined JFS in 2020 to enhance the agency’s grant-seeking efforts. Based on her success, Hayden has been named JFS's Director of Foundation Relations. In addition to managing the grantmaking process involving existing funders, Hayden will lead JFS' efforts in stewarding foundation relationships and expanding grants from new foundations and government funders.

Rachel Ohlhausen is taking on a new, expanded role of Director of Program Operations. Ohlhausen, who joined JFS in 2019, is adding volunteer engagement oversight to her scope of work, leveraging her background in that area advancing JFS's efforts to grow and diversify its volunteer program.

Sondra Wallace arrived at JFS in 2019 serving as the Mental Health Coalition Coordinator and overseeing the YouBeYou program. Now, Wallace has been named JFS's Director of Mental Health Programs primarily focused on building JFS’s continuum of care (treatment, prevention, and education), outreach and engagement of community partners, and growing our programs' capacity and capabilities.  Since joining JFS, Wallace has strategically built mental health programming and effectively leveraged community partnerships.

JFS Therapist Kerry Scott has been appointed as the agency’s new Clinical Manager. In this position, Scott is focused on supporting JFS’ counseling team including program improvement, clinical supervision, and best-practice client services. Scott, who joined JFS in 2019, brings keen clinical expertise and supervision experience to her role.
