Jewish Family Services will host a health fair from 1-3 p.m., Friday, Oct. 29 at the JFS Brookside office. This is the last in a series of health fairs the agency has hosted this month.

Participants will have the opportunity to receive free services provided by JFS and several of its community partners including:

  • Medicaid or Medicare counseling
  • COVID-19 vaccine shots provided by KC CARE Health Center
  • HIV testing offered by Samuel Rodgers Health Center (at the Oct. 1 and 29 health fairs only)
  • Medical assistance from Kansas City’s Medicine Cabinet
  • Food and household items provided by JFS
  • Information about JFS’ counseling and wellness programs

“Taking care of your mental and physical health often takes a back seat when you are struggling financially and facing food and housing insecurities. We see this every day among our clients,” said Maggie Haghirian, director of KesherKC, JFS’ social service and food pantry program.

JFS provides human services for people facing challenges in everyday life or times of crisis — regardless of faith, age, culture or lifestyle.

The health fairs are open to the public – no registration is required. Participants are asked to wear masks to protect everyone in this COVID-19 environment.
