Legacy donors and other generous supporters of The J recently had the opportunity to hear first-hand from some of the artists who contributed to the facility’s recently-installed permanent art collection.
Artists Sheppard Morose, Annette van de Kamp and Steven Derks came to Kansas City to share their insights on their own works on display throughout The J. Guests had the opportunity to interact with each artist and learn about the inspiration and influence behind their pieces.
During his opening remarks over dinner, Stanley Bushman shared that his investment in the Bushman Community Endowment program to promote legacy giving has been the best investment he has ever made. Bushman urged others to donate through estate gifts to ensure the future financial stability of the Jewish community in Kansas City.
Michael Staenberg, who provided the lead gift for The J expansion and was a guide for the selection of the art pieces on display, joined the evening’s festivities as well and thanked The J’s legacy donors for their commitment to the success of The J.
Those interested in learning about the pieces on display at The J and the artists who created them can explore a digital art book here.
