The 22nd Annual Allan Greenberg K.I. Synagogue golf tournament was held on June 7 at Deer Creek Golf Club.

This year’s tournament honored the memory of Larry Haith. Haith loved and supported the synagogue and the annual golf tournament, always present, smiling, playing when he could, and volunteering.

The tournament took many months of prep and planning, organizing, and soliciting. Richard Glass was the committee chair; Rosemary Gorin served as the volunteer chair; Elizabeth Peden, co-chair. Other committee members included Brenda Fishman, Barbie Glass, Ari Lubowicz and Rick Simon.

The event began with boxed lunches prepared by K.I. member volunteers. Sandwiches made from Ellenberg Experience Catering smoked turkey breasts were on the menu, and other packed items ensured that everyone had the nourishment they needed to take on the day’s activities.

Major sponsors included Arnold and Carol Caviar, KC Iron & Metal, Bill and Fani Schifman, Marty and Rosemary Gorin, Jerry Stolov and Judy Elliott, P1 Group, Digital Lagoon, Seal-O-Matic Paving Company, Bob Allen Ford and an anonymous donor.

Hole sponsors included some of those mentioned above, plus the Adamous family, Art Realty Company, CBIZ, Inc., Epstein Funeral Directors, the K.I. board of directors, the Lubowicz and Blend families, Mid-America Retina Consultants, the Minoofar family, Steve and Karen Pack, Prairie Capital, Leslie and Marc Price, The Reilly Company, Drs. Michael and Shari Sokol and Wilbert Funeral Services, Inc.

A silent auction took place throughout the day. A wide variety of Items were donated and included items such as fine jewelry, sporting equipment, bottles of wine, cooking equipment and art pieces. Gift cards were auctioned from restaurants, grocery stores, warehouse clubs, theater venues, hair salons and clothiers, to name a few.

K.I. would like to thank the numerous volunteers, players, and sponsors who helped make its event a splendid success, and invites everyone to join them next year.
