“There were some obstacles in tracking down the kosher status of the ingredients,” the email read, “but we prevailed and we are pleased to recommend the following ice cream flavors at the Golden Scoop…”
Those flavors include vanilla, Charlie’s chocolate, mint chocolate chip, coffee, cookie dough, cookies & cream, and Lucy’s 41 (dairy-free vanilla).
Vaad noted that while it didn’t formally certify the ice cream as kosher, it had determined that these flavors are produced using equipment and ingredients that meet kosher standards.

Other ice cream treats that have been similarly ascertained to be kosher by Vaad are the chocolate and vanilla frozen custard Andy’s, items at all three Yogurtini locations, certain items at Baskin-Robbins (check the flavor label for the kosher symbol) and most items at Chill in the Village in Prairie Village (ask for the kosher menu).

JFNA APPLAUDS SENATE
Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA) released the following statement last week after the Senate passed a bipartisan resolution condemning antisemitism:
“JFNA applauds Senators Jacky Rosen (D-NV) and James Lankford (R-OK) for their just-passed bipartisan resolution that sends a clear message against antisemitism in all its manifestations in the U.S. and around the world. Introduced even as Federations and national organizations across the country rallied together for the Act Against Antisemitism Day, the resolution emphasized and affirmed that inaction is inexcusable. We are grateful that the resolution expresses the Senate’s unwavering and unequivocal support of the Jewish community.
We now call upon the federal government to fulfill the goals identified in this resolution by designating a qualified ambassador to monitor and combat antisemitism, fully implementing the Never Again Education Act to counter Holocaust denial and distortion, ensuring sufficient resources for the Department of Homeland Security’s Nonprofit Security Grant Program, and urging law enforcement agencies at all levels to fully participate in the FBI’s data collection process for tracking hate crimes.”
