After hosting a successful Lag B’omer picnic for LGBTQIA members of the Jewish community and their allies, Jewish Experiences is launching a steering committee to organize future events and foster further participation.
The goal is to create more opportunities for gatherings and allow for more LGBTQIA community members to join in. Steering committee members will help generate ideas and be ambassadors for future events/programs.
If you are interested in participating in this committee, please email Samantha Hammontree at with your name and preferred contact information. Once the steering committee is formed, Jewish Experiences will facilitate a Zoom meeting to brainstorm ideas, communication methods and a potential calendar of events.
Jewish Experiences, a collaboration of Jewish Federation and The J, has also started a private Facebook group for LGBTQIA community members. Those interested can visit facebook.com/groups/714089346140372 and request to join.
