Join Ohev Sholom Sisterhood at 1:00 p.m. on April 25, for a program with Margie Miller, immediate past president of the Women’s League for Conservative Judaism and stepmother to Ohev Sholom’s own Adam Miller. She will discuss the topic, “Coping with the Challenges of Life.”

Miller and her first husband, Charlie Sivin z’l, were active at the Baldwin Jewish Center in Baldwin, New York. She became the first woman congregation president in her nonegalitarian synagogue. Her second husband, Joel Miller z’l, was killed at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.

For seven years after the events on 9/11, she was a family bereavement specialist for South Nassau Communities Hospital’s WTC Family Center. Margie coordinated family outreach and programming for the bereaved and first-responder’s families. She now travels throughout the country speaking about the effects of 9/11 on family members.
