After 72 years, the Lawrence Jewish Community Congregation (LJCC) has appointed Dr. Lara Giordano as its first executive director.
Dr. Giordano has been serving as the LJCC’s sole full-time employee since January 2023. The congregation has never had an executive director before.
A former professor of philosophy at the University of Kansas, Dr. Giordano is a native of northern California, coming to Lawrence after spending time in Nashville, Tennessee, and Seattle and Walla Walla, Washington.
The board and congregants of the LJCC, a lay-led unaffiliated community, are excited for this next chapter in its history.
