Community Blood Center (CBC) is again partnering with SevenDays to encourage the community to give blood or platelets between April 20 and 28 as part of the annual SevenDays week of kindness.

SevenDays is a Kansas City-based nonprofit dedicated to overcoming hate by promoting kindness and understanding via education and dialogue. Their annual week of kindness honors the lives of Reat Underwood, his grandfather Dr. William Corporon, and Terri LaManno, who were killed outside Jewish facilities in 2014. In the 12 years since the tragedy, nearly 35,000 blood donations have been given in their memory during the SevenDays week of kindness.

“Kindness is more than a word — it’s action,” said Mindy Corporon, co-founder of SevenDays. “Through this partnership with Community Blood Center, we turn compassion into something tangible. Every blood donation represents hope and healing for someone in need.”

“The legacy of SevenDays continues through blood donors who choose to help others,” said Chelsea Tibbetts, vice president of Blood Operations at Community Blood Center. “Patients in our community rely on blood every day for trauma care, cancer treatment, surgeries and chronic illnesses. Blood donation is a simple way to make a lasting impact.”
