Two decorated local senior racewalkers, Dr. Alan Poisner and David Eisenberg, recently returned from the 2026 USA Track & Field Masters Indoor Track and Field Championships with gold medals.
Both represented their local racewalking organization, the Heartland Racewalkers, at the Albuquerque, New Mexico, event on Feb. 19.
Each won the men’s one-mile race walk for their age brackets: Dr. Poisner clocked a 13:10.45 time in the 90-94-year-old age bracket, and Eisenberg clocked an 11:17.54 time in the 75-79-year-old age bracket.
Both men train together with the Heartland Racewalkers every Saturday, year-round. In 1989, Poisner co-founded Heartland Racewalkers, and Eisenberg has served as its president.
