KC Torah MiTzion Community Kollel will hold multiple events in the coming weeks for community members ranging from children and teenagers to adults.
Run by Benny and Tehillah Feldman, KC Kollel is intended to serve the entire Jewish community in Kansas City.and provide meaningful Jewish and Israel-related programs for everyone.
For all events in private residences, addresses will be provided upon emailing .
Upcoming events include a nighttime Beit Midrash learning lesson on the topic “Honoring the Dead: Challenges in Jewish Burial Today” at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 15. Attendees will learn about how Israel's rapidly growing population and limited land resources have caused challenges in providing sufficient space for traditional burial, giving rise to the need for diverse and innovative solutions that remain fully compliant with halachic requirements. The session will be held at the house of Brenda and Howard Rosenthal.
On Saturday, Jan. 24, from 7 to 8 p.m., KC Kollel will host an evening of parent-child learning at Congregation Beth Israel Abraham and Voliner (9900 Antioch Rd, Overland Park, KS 66212). Attendees can use provided learning sheets or bring their own. Food will be provided, and a raffle with prizes will be held.
KC Kollel will then hold a Fondue B’Shvat Melaveh Malka (post-Shabbat meal) for teenagers on Saturday, Jan. 31, at 7:30 p.m. Fondue, singing and socializing are planned at the Feldmans’ house.
Then, beginning in February, KC Kollel will begin a series of classes for women on the book of Kohelet (Ecclesiastes). Held on Tuesdays, Feb. 3, 10 and 17, at 8 p.m., the classes will focus on King Solomon’s reflections as he explored life’s meaning.
