The Menorah Heritage Foundation announced the expansion of its pilot program, Better Together: A Jewish KC Conversation Project — a dialogue-based initiative that invites participants to engage in meaningful, respectful conversations across differences.

“Better Together began with a simple but powerful idea,” said Rita Cortes, executive director of the Menorah Heritage Foundation. “Meaningful conversations — across generations, backgrounds and perspectives — can strengthen our community. This isn’t just a dialogue project; it’s an investment in the future of Jewish Kansas City.”

This free program is open to individuals who identify as Jewish or are connected to the Jewish community and are interested in engaging in authentic conversations across perspectives.

Guided by a trained facilitation team, each group meets for a series of three to five sessions (60–90 minutes each). There will be both teen and adult groups.

The adult group will meet on Wednesday evenings from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on July 9, 30 and Aug. 20 at the Jewish Community Campus.

The teen group will meet on Thursday evenings from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on July 17, 24 and 31. Each participant will receive a $100 charitable gift card to support a cause they care about.

“Better Together is about more than just talking — it’s about learning how to listen deeply, speak with honesty and stay connected across differences,” said Dr. Kathleen Dalen, lead coach for the program. “Participants gain skills that strengthen not only their conversations but their communities.”

Those interested can sign up at bit.ly/better-together-registration or contact Tracie Holley at or (816) 398-1477. Registration is requested by July 3.
