The Jewish Agency for Israel’s Fund for Victims of Terror is monitoring developments in Israel and providing financial assistance to those wounded and for families directly impacted. This fund is supported by individual Jewish Federations, including the Jewish Federation of Greater Kansas City and its donors.
The Jewish Agency reported Tuesday that it is also looking after the safety and security of hundreds of immigrant families and kids living in its absorption centers, young residents in its youth villages, participants on its Israel programs (including Masa Israel Journey), and thousands of older adults living in Amigour housing, as follows:
Hundreds of immigrants in absorption centers, as well as program participants from overseas, are confronting their first experience with an attack on Israel. Jewish Agency staff is ensuring that they are familiar with the procedures and that they feel supported.
Hotlines for program participants and staff have been opened and are staffed by mental health professionals in several languages. Emotional assistance in various languages is also being provided to participants, both Israelis and those from around the world.
As of Tuesday, school had been canceled in several locations; absorption centers in these places were operating in emergency mode, which includes activities for children and teens in bomb shelters or other protected areas.
The staff of the Jewish Agency’s Amigour subsidiary have been working with government staff to repair homes that have been damaged and provide support.
