Strangers No More announces series on Sermon on the Mount; Coffee & Conversation schedule Strangers No More, a group of Christian and Jewish women whose goals are to construct paths to understanding and build bridges through developing relationships, announces a discussion series based on a new book by Professor Amy-Jill Levine, “Sermon on the Mount, A Beginner’s Guide to the Kingdom of Heaven.” SNM members are familiar with Levine, whose book, “The Misunderstood Jew-The Church and the Scandal of the Jewish Jesus,” was studied during SNM’s first series. The series will be held on Zoom for six evenings beginning Jan. 21, 2021, and continuing on Jan. 25, Feb. 8, Feb. 22, March 8 and March 22 from 7p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Each session is designed to stand alone, so participants may attend as many sessions as they choose. Each will begin with a short video by Levine, followed by discussion. No registration is necessary to participate. Participants are encouraged to read the book, but it is not mandatory to be part of the discussion. Copies of the book can be ordered online or will be available for purchase with curbside pickup through United Methodist Church of the Resurrection book store. Strangers No More 2021 Coffee & Conversation morning sessions (11a.m. to 12:30 p.m.) are scheduled for Jan. 11, Feb. 18 and March 18. Reminders and dates of both the book series and the daytime Coffee & Conversations will be posted on the Strangers No More Facebook page.
