Jeffrey and Marcia Lipsky of Prairie Village announce the engagement of their son, Daniel Lipsky, to Lindsey Novak, the daughter of Felice and Jef Block and Lee Novak.

The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of the late Max and Bella Lewin and the late Phill and Bell Novak. She attended Arizona State University, earning a master’s degree in special education. She is currently employed by Learning Ally in Chicago.

The future groom is the grandson of Marjorie and the late Eugene Lipsky and the late Faivel and Ann Dunn. He attended the University of Kansas, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics. He is currently employed at Command Transportation in Skokie, Ill.

A March 23 wedding at Kehilath Israel Synagogue is planned.

Twins Alice Shostak Mayer and Emma Shostak Becker were born on Nov. 23, 1923, in Kansas City, Mo., and celebrated their 90th birthday with a family brunch at Village Shalom on Nov. 24.

Mayer’s children and three grandchildren and Becker’s children, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren were all on hand to help celebrate, including those from out of town.

Mayer lives at Village Shalom and Becker lives at The Atriums, both in Overland Park.

Frank and Tracy Tankard of Kansas City, Mo., announce the birth Nov. 7 of their son, Weston David Tankard.

Grandparents are Alan and Barbara Schwartz of Lenexa, and Timothy and Valerie Tankard of Overland Park. Great-grandparents are David and Betty Hodges of Estes Park, Colo., and Delia Tankard of Leawood.

Lisa and Matthew Reeves announce the B’nai Mitzvah of their sons, Samuel Louis and Jacob Miles, at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, at The Temple, Congregation B’nai Jehudah.

Sam and Jack are the grandsons of Sheryl and Michael Porter and Marian and Charles Reeves. Great-grandparents are Ruth and Harry Kreiter of Chicago.
