Carol and David Freirich announce the engagement of their daughter, Melissa Ann Freirich, to Michael Scott Foster, son of Eva and James Foster of Lake Quivira, Kan.
The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joe W. Hirsch and the late Mr. and Mrs. Jerry B. Freirich. She attended Colorado University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology, and Loyola University of Chicago, where she earned a master’s degree in education. She is a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. She is currently employed as a substitute teacher in the Shawnee Mission and Blue Valley School Districts.
The future groom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Kasmar and the late Mr. and Mrs. Harry C. Foster. He attended Drake University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in finance, and the University of Missouri–Kansas City, where he earned his law degree. He is a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. He is currently employed as an attorney at Polsinelli, Shughart in Kansas City.
A Dec. 29 wedding at the InterContinental Hotel is planned.
