The children of Chuck and Marsha Levey would like to announce the celebration of their parents’ 45th wedding anniversary on Sept. 8.

For 45 years, Chuck and Marsha have celebrated many happy events, including the birth of their three children, Kimberly, Kristi and Jonathan; all their weddings; and the birth of their four grandchildren, Michael, Landon, Sidney and Lacey.

Chuck and Marsha plan on many more “life celebrations” in the near future. Our parents have shown us that “love is forever.”

Jennifer Simon and Matthew Trokenheim of Brooklyn, N.Y., announce the birth July 25 of a son, Ryan Miller. They are also the parents of Noah Simon.

Shelly and Joe DeWoskin announce the Bat Mitzvah of their daughter, Robin Samantha, at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, at The Temple, Congregation B’nai Jehudah.

Robin is the granddaughter of Joan Schwartz of Wichita Falls, Texas, and Alan and Iris DeWoskin of St. Louis.

Rabbi Jonathan and Marcelle Rudnick announce the Bar Mitzvah of their son, Sagi Rudnick, to take place in two parts. First at 9 a.m. Monday, Aug. 19, in Jerusalem at the Schechter Institute for Jewish Studies, then later in the week at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, at Congregation Ohev Sholom.

Sagi is the grandson of Cy and Esther Rudnick of Kansas City and Tzipora Mariani and Hayim Mariani of Jerusalem.

Steve and Linda Block of Overland Park announce the engagement of their daughter, Tara Block, to Matthew Warnock, son of Jack and Bonnie Warnock of Liberty, Mo.

The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of the late Irwin and Janice Block and Dorothy Erickson and the late Dale Erickson. She attended the University of Kansas, earning a bachelor’s degree in communication studies. She is currently employed at Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville, Fla.

The future groom is the grandson of the late Jim and Francis Warnock and the late Harry and Polina Sereda. He attended Washburn University on a golf scholarship, earning a bachelor’s degree in finance and economics. He is currently employed at the PGA TOUR in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.

A spring 2014 wedding is planned in downtown Kansas City.

Norbert and Lilian Lipschuetz will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary on Tuesday, Aug. 20. After they both survived the Holocaust in Germany, they were married on Aug. 20, 1948.

They are pictured above in May 1948, shortly before their wedding.

The Lipschuetz’s are the parents of four children, Monica Mills (Rick), Benni Lipschuetz, Yvonne Rosenthal (Steve) and Jeff Lipschuetz (Barbara); the grandparents of Janet Maddox Wilson (Mike), Marly Morris (Mike), Angie Lipschuetz, Michael Lipschuetz, Jennifer Lyster (Chris), Kim Rosenthal, Chris Begole and Shelby Lipschuetz. They have eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

They have been members of Kehilath Israel Synagogue since 1957.

Dr. Daniel and Yael Malka Loren of Hartford, Conn., announce the birth May 30 of a daughter, Maya Rose Loren. They are also the parents of daughter Noa Sydney Loren.

Grandparents are Aaron and Madeline Silver, Leawood, Dr. Michael and Ann Loren, Overland Park, and Victor and Tzipporah Malka, Yokneam Elite, Israel.

Sheldon and Cindy Singer announce the engagement of their daughter, Megan Singer, to Samuel Pener, son of James and Elisa Pener.

The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Morton and Helene Singer and the late Irwin and Janice Block. She earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Kansas and is employed at Phoenix Family.

The future groom is the grandson of Edward and Rickie Haith and the late Louis and Bertha Pener. He earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Tulane University and is employed at the American Academy of Family Physicians.

A winter wedding at Kehilath Israel Synagogue is planned.

Harold and Marie Asner will have been married 45 years on Aug. 18. The Asners were married on Aug. 18, 1968, in St. Cloud, Minn. Louis Asner, Overland Park, was best man.

Prior to being transferred to the Kansas City area, Harold and Marie lived in Omaha, Neb. Marie was an organist at Temple Israel prior to the 1975 tornado that severely damaged that building. Harold is retired from the Real Estate Division of the U. S. Postal service and is now an access services scheduling assistant and math tutor at Johnson County Community College. Marie is a freelance writer, workshop presenter, nationally published poet and entertainment reviewer with 5,600 bylines.
