Toby and Walter Robbins celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Nov. 25-26. On Friday, Nov. 25, there was an open house at the home of Rita Shapiro, sister of the couple, and on Saturday, Nov. 26, at Leawood South Country Club. Dining and dancing were enjoyed by family, friends and out of town guests Steve, Fran and David Robbins, Michelle Robbins Markow, Susan Cohen Fisher, Joy Bronfman Greiser, Marilyn Levitch Hassid, Phillip Blender, Eric Lindeman, Robin Mozo-Saa and Martin Shapiro. The couple were married by Rabbi Morris Margolies at Congregation Beth Shalom on Nov. 25, 1961. Nine members of the original wedding party were present at the 50th anniversary celebration.

Susan and Bob Galamba announce their daughter Sydney Elizabeth became a Bat Mitzvah on Saturday, Dec. 10, at The Temple, Congregation B’nai Jehudah. Sydney is the granddaughter of John and Denise Saper of Overland Park, the late Bobbi Marks Saper, Joyce Galamba of Overland Park and the late Elmer Galamba. A Kiddush luncheon was held following the service.

Arianne Samantha Kahn and Keegan Gregory Potter were married Sunday, Nov. 20, at Cellar 222 in Kansas City, Mo.

The bride is the daughter of Vicki Jo Belzer and the granddaughter of Phyllis and Edward Belzer and Marlene Kahn and the late Stewart Kahn.

The groom is the son of Cameron Potter and Greg Potter and the grandson of Benny and Dale Potter.

The matron of honor was the bride’s grandmother, Phyllis Belzer, Prairie Village. The best man was Greg Potter, Edmond Okla. The bride’s mother, Vicki Belzer, and brother, Sam Kahn of Jerusalem, gave her away. Will Cook, Edmond, Okla., was a groomsman.

After a honeymoon in Italy, the couple reside in Atlanta.

Gary and Shelley Martasin of Leawood announce the engagement of their daughter, Heather Danielle Martasin, to Dr. David Lawrence Weinstein, son of Benjamin and Debra Weinstein of West Palm Beach, Fla.

The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of the late Harry and Mildred Martasin, Kansas City, Mo., and the late David and Celia Katz, Kansas City, Mo. She attended Emporia State University, graduating with honors with a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education. She earned her master’s degree in elementary education at Baker University. She is currently employed as a fourth-grade teacher in the Shawnee Mission School District in Overland Park.

The future groom is the grandson of Harold and Louise Weinstein, Allentown, Pa., and the late Joel and Roseanne Yellin, Rockaway, N.J. He attended Kansas State University, graduating summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in animal science and graduated this year with a doctorate in veterinary medicine. He is currently completing an internship at New York City Veterinary Specialists in New York City.

A July 7 wedding at Eagle Beach, Aruba, is planned.

Jennifer Beverly Miller and Richard Abraham Devinki were married on Aug. 21 in an outdoor ceremony under the chuppah at the Ojai Valley Inn in Ojai, Calif.

The bride is the daughter of Hildegard and Bernard Miller, Woodland Hills, Calif. She is the granddaughter of Meyer and Sally Miller of Palm Springs, Calif., and Mathias and Genoveva Reiter of Wartenberg, Germany.

The groom is the son of Barbara Devinki, Rancho Mirage, Calif., and Sam Devinki, Leawood. He is the grandson of Maria Devinki, Leawood, and the late Fred Devinki and the late Gerald and Sima Mack.

The maid of honor was the bride’s sister, Stefanie Miller, Portland, Ore., and the bridesmaid was Regina Fink, Armonk, N.Y. Their best dog was Sprite, Woodland Hills. The best man was Steve Puppe, Olathe, and groomsman was Adam Herschman, Los Angeles. The flower girl was Kayla Fink and the ring bearer was Nate Fink, Armonk.

After a honeymoon in Maui, the couple are at home in Woodland Hills.

Allison Deutch and Chad Silver were married July 3 at the Savery Hotel in Des Moines, Iowa. Rabbi Mark Glickman, cousin of the groom, officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Judy and Larry Deutch of Des Moines and the granddaughter of Betty Deutch, the late Moe Deutch and the late Leone and George Morgenstern. The bride earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Kansas. She is a project coordinator for the Los Angeles Valley College Job Training department.

The groom, son of Elaine and Howard Silver of Highland Heights, Ohio, earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance at Miami University. He is assistant director on the television series “The Closer.”

The couple reside in Sherman Oaks, Calif.

The bride is the daughter of Helen and Stewart Farbman and the late Donald Apple and the granddaughter of the late Lily and Herman Cahn, survivors of the Holocaust, and the late Ruth and Dave Apple of Seattle.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Norris of Phoenix.

After a honeymoon in Italy, the couple reside in Prairie Village.

Helen and Stewart Farbman announce the engagement of their daughter, Hilary Ilene Apple, to Dr. Patrick Yao, son of Catherine and Allen Yao of Potomac, Md. Hilary is also the daughter of the late Donald Apple.

The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of the late Lily and Herman Cahn and the late Ruth and Dave Apple of Seattle. She is the founder and owner of Apple-A-Day Pet Care of Austin, Texas, which she continues to run from her new home in Omaha, Neb.

The future groom graduated from the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences and is a doctor of osteopathic medicine. He is a captain in the United States Air Force and is a first-year resident in family medicine in Omaha.

A March wedding at The Intercontinental Hotel in Kansas City is planned.
