Kathryn and David Fehr of Chicago announce their marriage, which was held on March 24, 2012, at the President Hilton Hotel in Kansas City, Mo., with their family and friends in attendance.

Kathryn and David met while attending the University of Missouri at Kansas City Graduate School, where they both received their MFA degrees in 2008 and specialized in theater and acting.

The bride, 31, is the daughter of Nancy and David Bartholomew of Granger, Ind., and the groom, 37, the son of Stephanie and Donald Fehr of Rye Brook, N.Y., formally of Kansas City, Mo.

The bride is the granddaughter of late Dorothy and Alfred Bartholomew of Fort Wayne, Ind., and the late Janet and Wade Whitman of Hobart, Ind. The groom is the grandson of Irene (Dolly) Fehr, of Overland Park, and the late Louis A. Fehr, formally from Marion, Ind., and the late Sylvia Ruth Eveloff Feldman of Overland Park. The bride’s father works at Keystone Logistics, and her mother works for Liberty Mutual Insurance in Indiana.

The groom’s father is the executive director for the National Hockey League Players Association in Toronto and previous executive director of the Major League Baseball Players Association in New York. His mother works for the National PTA on the special needs committee, as well as consultant for the New York State Parent Teacher Association.

The couple will continue to live and work in Chicago after their honeymoon to Aruba. The bride works for the Jewish National Fund and is also the executive producer of Ka-Tet theater production company and the groom teaches at the Josephium Catholic Girls School, as well as acting and directing in various theater productions.

Those in attendance at the wedding came from more than 19 different states and countries to celebrate their wedding.

Fehr, best man and brother of the groom, Naperville, Ill., formerly of Rye Brook; Mark Bartholomew, brother of the bride, Granger; Angela Cristellio, friend of the bridal couple, New York City, formerly from Kansas City, Mo. Tuba Fehr, sister-in-law of the groom, Naperville, formerly of Istanbul, was the bride’s assistant and Alex Fehr, cousin of the groom, Lawrence, was the escort of the groom’s grandmother, Irene Fehr, Overland Park.

David and Julie Rudman announce the Bat Mitzvah of their daughter, Zoe Madeline, at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 9, at The Temple, Congregation B’nai Jehudah. Zoe is the granddaughter of Robert and Sandra Rudman, St. Louis; Maureen Rudman, St. Louis; Jim Rothwell and Kriss Avery, St. Louis; and Carol Rothwell and Roger Pierard, Kansas City. Stewart and Esther Stein of Leawood announce the engagement of their son, Louis Stein, to Carly Brown, daughter of Arnie Brown and the late Sandee Brown of Buffalo Grove, Ill.

The future groom is the grandson of Mary Smith and the late Edward and Annette Stein and the late Leo and Shirley Polterock.

He attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, earning a degree in economics. He is currently employed as a fund accountant at State Street Corporation.

The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Adele Wolpin and the late David Wolpin and the late Harry and Ethel Brown. She attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, earning a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in marketing. She is currently employed as the program director of KU Hillel.

A June 17 wedding in Madison is planned.

Debbe Trachtman has chosen to become a Bat Mitzvah at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 2, at The Temple, Congregation B’nai Jehudah. Trachtman earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology and psychology and a Master of Arts degree in ancient history at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Having retired from Xerox, Trachtman continues post-graduate work at the University of Kansas in ancient history and the sciences. Trachtman is the daughter of Ida Mour and the late A.J. Mour. Family and friends are invited to celebrate with her.

Jon and Suzi Slatkin of Stanmore, Middlesex, England, announce the birth April 20 of a son, Nathan Stuart. They are also the parents of Oliver Morrison. Grandparents are Robert and Linda Brody of Kenton, England, and Mark and Trudy Slatkin of Overland Park.

This is to announce Joshua Mallin, grandson of Lore Mallin (of blessed memory) and Mel Mallin, son of David and Gail Mallin, graduated with honors on May11 from Colorado State University School of Civil Engineering. He is a member of Tau Beta Pi engineering honors society, Chi Epsilon civil engineering honors, Golden Key International and a member of National Society of Leadership and Success.

Ian Roozrokh, a freshman at Blue Valley Northwest High School and the son of David and Rachel Roozrokh, was honored as one of the top student volunteers, earning him the President’s Volunteer Service Award. Above, Ian accepts his award certificate on May 8 from Dr. Tom Trigg, Superintendent of Blue Valley Schools. Ian completed more than 500 hours of volunteer community service.
