The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Roy and Sharlene Triveline and Norma and the late Lou Guida. She attended Ball State University where she graduated magna cum laude in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in political science and DePaul University where she earned a master’s degree in public administration in 2010. She is currently employed as a Colorado development director for the non-profit organization “Share Our Strength.”

The future groom is the grandson of the late Bess and Sam Fiszel of Chesterfield, Mo., and Fred and the late Joyce Westfield of Nashville. He graduated from Blue Valley North High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2005. He is currently employed as a quality assurance manager for Accenture.

An April 2013 wedding is planned.

The bride-to-be graduated from Kapaun Mount Carmel High School in Wichita and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology from the University of Kansas.

The future groom graduated from Blue Valley Northwest High School and is currently a student at the University of Kansas.

Jennifer Boresow Burns and Jeff Burns announce the birth June 30 of a son, Mark Howard Boresow Burns. They are also the parents of five girls and four other boys: Sydney, 12; Anna, 11; Taylor, 10; Ryan, 9; Daniel, 7; Matthew, 6; Thomas, 5; Andrew, 3; and Sam, 1 ½. Yaakov and Avital Rosenberg announce the birth July 3 of a daughter, Atara Malka Rosenberg. Grandparents are Rabbi Dr. Bernhard Rosenberg and Charlene Rosenberg and Alan and Jackie Kelin. All reside in Edison, N.J. The baby is named after the mother’s paternal grandmother and the father’s cousin, the late Maria Devinki.

The Sixth Annual National Indie Excellence Awards recognized “Make New Friends … Live Longer” by Sunie Levin in the category of Aging as a winner/finalist.

This national award, based in Los Angeles, is open to all English language books including small presses, university presses, independent publishers and self-published authors. Works published in 2009, 2010 and 2011 were eligible for consideration.

The competition is judged by independent experts from all aspects of the indie book industry, including publishers, writers, editors, book cover designers and professional copywriters. They select award winners and finalists based on overall excellence of presentation.

“Make New Friends … Live Longer” is a non-fiction genre book — a how-to for boomers and seniors to become proactive in making new friends.
