Whitney and Aaron were married on April 25, 2020, in a private ceremony at the home of the matron of honor, Elizabeth Blackburn, in Blue Springs, Missouri. The wedding was witnessed by the parents of the bride and groom, and the best man, Jacob Elyachar, via FaceTime in New York City.
Whitney grew up in Kingsport, Tennessee; Dubuque, Iowa; and Jefferson City. She graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting. Whitney is currently the controller at Big Brothers Big Sisters Kansas City. She is the granddaughter of Earl and Rose Dunn of Kingsport, Don Shepherd of Kingsport and the late Donna Shepherd.
Aaron grew up in Overland Park. He graduated from both the University of Arizona, with his bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies, and the University of Missouri-Kansas City, with his master’s degree in entrepreneurial real estate. Aaron is currently general manager at Elyachar Investments and senior housing advisor at KW Commercial Real Estate. He is the grandson of the late Ralph and Sophia Matzdorff, the late Daniel Elyachar and the late Mary Patricia Sylvia (Zinn).
The married couple currently reside in Shawnee, Kansas.
