Dr. Lawrence and Allison Green of Potomac, Maryland, announce the engagement of their daughter Yael Green to Naftali Lehrfield, son of Dr. Yoni and Debbie Lehrfield of Ma'ale Adumim, Israel.
Yael is the granddaughter of Robert (z”l) and Barbara Frager of Overland Park, Kansas and Lenny and Adele Green of Washington, D.C. Yael made aliyah to Israel in 2020 and is currently working as the director of internships for Destination Israel. Yael graduated from Muhlenberg College with a degree in psychology and media and communications. She also holds a master’s degree in nonprofit management and leadership from The Hebrew University in Jerusalem.
Naftali made aliyah at age 10 with his family from Chicago, Illinois. He worked in the Old City in Jerusalem for several years and later opened a delivery and transportation company to help the elderly, handicapped and businesses maneuver through the Old City’s alleys. Later, he opened his own salad bar and pizza restaurant in the Old City called Salad Express.
Yael and Naftali have traveled from Israel to Kansas City several times to visit family in Leawood and Overland Park and plan to keep coming back — Yael promised her grandmother that even though most people prefer to travel to Israel for the holidays, she will always come back to Kansas.
The couple are planning a beachside wedding in Netanya, Israel, in May.
