Dr. Mitchell and Lisa Hamburg of Leawood, Kansas, announce the engagement of their daughter, Shayna Anne Hamburg, to Aaron Michael Meer.
The couple live in Aurora, Colorado.
Shayna is the granddaughter of the late Eleanor and Jerry Abrams of Overland Park, Kansas; and the late Natalie and Alan Hamburg of Mission, Kansas. She graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder with a bachelor’s degree in sociology (with distinction) and a minor in education. She then received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (summa cum laude) from the University of Colorado Denver. Currently, Shayna is a registered nurse in the Blood Disorders Center of the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Center in Denver.
Aaron is the son of Lisa and Michael Weiss of Denver and Larry Meer and Claudia Gomez of Miami, Florida. He is the grandson of Audrey Held and the late Kenneth Meer of Denver; and the late Bernice “Bebe” Schmerman and the late Jerry Schmerman. Aaron graduated from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting and finance and a Master of Accounting degree. He is currently the director of M&A advisory at FTI Consulting in Denver. He is a CPA in Colorado, New York and Virginia; an associate level real estate broker in Colorado; and a member of the Kappa Alpha Order fraternity.
Their wedding is planned for Oct. 15; Rabbi Richard Rheins of Temple Sinai in Denver will officiate the wedding at Sanctuary Golf Course in Sedalia, Colorado.
