Lawrence and Ruth Bigus announce the engagement of their daughter, Elizabeth Kate Bigus, to Brett Oliver Dumas, son of Oliver and Sharon Dumas.
Elizabeth is the granddaughter of the late Sheldon and Dorothy Baum and the late Kenneth and Elma Bigus. Brett is the grandson of the late Oliver and Bertha Dumas, the late Alan Collette, and Delores Collette. Both are residents of Somerville, Massachusetts.
Elizabeth is a pediatrician at Andover Pediatrics in Andover, Massachusetts. She graduated Summa Cum Laude and received a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience from Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee, where she was a member of the Alpha Omicron Pi sorority. She then received a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Central Florida College of Medicine in Orlando, Florida.
Brett is in a fellowship in hematology and oncology at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. He received an undergraduate degree in biology and biochemistry at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, Massachusetts, where he was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. He then received a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Central Florida College of Medicine in Orlando.
Their wedding is planned for Aug. 26, 2023, at Avent Orangery in Kansas City, Kansas.
