Ellen and Paul Schifman of Scottsdale, Arizona, announce the engagement of their son, Samuel Schifman, to Marissa Berggrun, daughter of Michelle Berggrun Daunch and stepfather Timothy Daunch of Moreland Hills, Ohio, and Adam Berggrun.
Samuel is the grandson of Madeline and Robert Schifman of Prairie Village, Kansas, and Rica and the late Harvey Spivack of Tucson, Arizona. Marissa is the granddaughter of the late Nancy and Gary Gerson of Shaker Heights, Ohio, and the late Sophie and Emil Berggrun of University Heights, Ohio.
Samuel is an originator at a commercial real estate debt fund in New York City. He received a Bachelor of Science in business administration from Chapman University in Orange, California, in 2016. Marissa is a marketing supervisor at Publicis Groupe in New York City. She received a Bachelor of Arts in marketing and communications from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, in 2016.
The couple are planning a summer 2024 wedding in Cleveland, Ohio.
