Alexandra Eugenia Hoopes and Jacob Max Sunshine of Somerville, Massachusetts, announce their engagement.
Alexandra is the daughter of John Hoopes and Lauren Mattleman Hoopes of Lawrence, Kansas. She is the granddaughter of Lucy Hoopes of Baltimore, Maryland; Jack and Nancy Hoopes of Asheville, North Carolina; and the late Nathan and Beatrice Mattleman of Jenkintown, Pennsylvania.
Jacob is the son of Andrew Sunshine and Mara Heiman of New York City. He is the grandson of Marjorie Sunshine and the late Bernard Sunshine of New York City and the late Howard and Gersona Heiman of Allentown, Pennsylvania.
Alexandra is a graduate of the New York University Tisch School of the Arts. She is a writer and editor, and she is the manager of social media platforms for St. Martin’s Press at Macmillan. Jacob received his undergraduate degree from Columbia University and is a Ph.D. candidate in music at Harvard University. He is also a professional guitarist.
The couple are planning a June 2023 wedding in Cohasset, Massachusetts. Rabbi Mark Levin, Founding Rabbi of Congregation Beth Torah in Overland Park, Kansas, will officiate.
