Asher Manning Steinberg, son of Adryan and Brian Steinberg, will become a bar mitzvah on Saturday, June 17, at Congregation Beth Shalom.
Asher is the grandson of Shellie and Steve Gordon of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and Sheila and Irv Steinberg of Boynton Beach, Florida.
Some of Asher’s hobbies include playing ice hockey, acting in and writing plays, building with LEGO, and collecting rocks.
For his mitzvah project, Asher organized a food drive for the JFS food pantry which brought in 392.8 pounds of food. Including online donations, Asher was able to contribute 902 meals for families in Kansas City.
Family and friends are invited to attend Kiddush following Shabbat services.
