Todd and Karen Newmark announce the Bat Mitzvah of their daughter, Avery Newmark, on Saturday May 15 at The Temple, Congregation B’nai Jehudah.
Avery is the granddaughter of Brad and Linda Finkle, David and Linda Marcus and of the late Stevan Newmark. She has one sibling, Leah.
Avery enjoys orchestra, basketball, piano and art. Given the devastating impact that COVID-19 has had on society at large, Avery decided that for her mitzvah project it was important to help others in a way that was meaningful to the pandemic recovery. She decided to sew face masks for those who may not otherwise be able to afford them, and provided the masks to a local homeless shelter.
