Chucker Luetje and Susan Bernstein announce the Bat Mitzvah of their daughter, Julia Helena Luetje, at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 10, at The Temple, Congregation B’nai Jehudah. Friends and family are invited to join virtually at www.facebook.com/ttcbj or www.vimeo.com/bnaijehudah.
Julia is the granddaughter of Dr. Phyliss and Robert Bernstein and Dr. Charlie and Sandra Luetje. She has three siblings: Chad, Ali and Adam.
Julia enjoys competitive gymnastics, art, baking, being with family, traveling and is active in Kesher. When she was 10, she won the Grand Prize in a national invention contest out of 13,000 entries for her Storm Sleeper invention, which she created to help others manage stress and anxiety. She went from young inventor to entrepreneur when she recently launched The Storm Sleeper business. On her own, she also created a Donor Advised Fund with a portion of her prize winnings to support children’s hospitals, the autism community and pet rescues.
For her mitzvah project, Julia is collecting arts and crafts to donate to Children’s Mercy
