Brayden Daniel Cardozo, son of Alan and Sheri Cardozo, became a Bar Mitzvah on Nov. 15, 2014, on board Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Brayden in the grandson of Allen and Judy Cinnamon of Leawood and Max and Lenore Cardozo of Overland Park.

Missy and Jeff Goldenberg announce the Bat Mitzvah of their daughter, Mirra Tamar, at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 10, at Congregation Beth Shalom.

Andrew Borowick

Andrew Borowick graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Missouri with a Masters of Accountancy degree on Dec. 20. He recently passed all four parts of the Uniform CPA Exam averaging a 94. The son of Jerry and Karen Borowick, Borowick plans to begin his career with PwC in Denver in January.


Sherry and Mike Blumenthal

Sherry and Mike Blumenthal celebrated their 50th anniversary on Dec. 20. Joining them in celebration were Mike’s brother Larry Blumenthal; their four daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and John Brownlee, Jane and Joseph Martin, Wendy and Adam Petricoff, and Lisa and Ken Schifman; and 10 grandchildren Sarah, Jack and David Brownlee,  Leah and Danny Martin, Ben and Anna Petricoff, and Jared, Drew and Charlie Schifman. Sherry is the daughter of Dorothy Peltzman, who resides at Village Shalom. The happy couple was married by Rabbis Morris Margolies and William Silverman at the Muehlebach Hotel in 1964.

Steven Rubin and Nicole Gibrick were married Sept. 6 in Chicago, Ill., at the City Winery. 

The bride is the daughter of Ilene and Dennis Gibrick of Chicago. She works as an educational publisher at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt.

Autumn Kent and Magnus Grimmett of Aspen, Colo., announce the birth of a son, John Balthazar “Bazza” Grimmett, on July 24, 2014.

Bazza is the grandson of Karen Polsky Kent of Aspen, Stephen Kent and Joan Benson of Redstone, Colo., and John and Bernadette Grimmett of the United Kingdom.

Great-grandparents are Elaine Polsky of Leawood and the late Norman Polsky.

Dion and Howard Lutzk announce the engagement of their daughter, Brittany Lutzk, to Benjamin Caruba, son of Marcia Letizia and Alain Caruba and step-son of Glen Letizia.

The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Rickie and Dr. Edward Haith, and Eleanor and the late Dr. Bernard Lutzk.

The future groom is the grandson of Ruth Leder and the late Warren Leder and the late Adrienne and Maurice Caruba.

A small wedding is planned in New York for Jan. 10, 2015.
