Amy Goldstein and Barry Dicker announce the Bar Mitzvah of their son, Gabriel Isaac Derkatch Goldstein, at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 13, at The Temple, Congregation B’nai Jehudah at the Jewish Community Campus.
Gabe is the grandson of Linda and Elliott Goldstein of Overland Park; the late Sandra Weisberger Goldstein; and Saralyn and Gerald Dicker of Boca Raton, Florida. He has one younger brother, Jacob Goldstein.
Gabe attends Indian Woods Middle School, where he recently received the Student of the Month award. He is active in Boy Scout Troop 387 and involved in NFTY and BBYO Connect. He is a true lover of animals, and spends as much time as he can grooming and riding his horse, Cherokee; caring for his two Russian tortoises; and enjoying his dog, Maccabee.
For Gabe’s mitzvah projects, he is collecting books to be donated to those who need them and is also spreading joy by bringing his sweet dog, Maccabee, to Village Shalom to visit with some of the residents.
