Ingram’s annual 40 Under Forty list recognizes young leaders in the community who reflect the highest levels of ethics and integrity and a commitment to entrepreneurial thinking as well as strong leadership skills and a commitment to community service. 

Since joining Summit in 2009, Kohen has led the company through eight years of unprecedented growth from 29 closings in 2009 with just $10 million in revenue to 273 closings in 2017 with just over $100 million in revenue.

In 2014, Kohen was recognized by Professional Builder Magazine on the publication’s 40 Under 40 list of young industry leaders. In 2015, he was recognized by the Kansas City Business Journal as a “Next Gen Leader” in the Kansas City community.  

Kohen is dedicated to giving back to his community. He is a founding member of Summit Homes’ Charitable Giving Committee, which awarded $500,000 in grants to more than a dozen organizations in 2017. Since 2011, Kohen has spearheaded Summit’s efforts to support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, raising nearly $6 million through 2017 with the building of an annual benefit home, golf tournament, poker tournament, and team participation in the annual St. Jude Walk/Run to End Childhood Cancer.   

Kohen, a member of BIAV, holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration from Ottawa University and a Master of Business Administration from Webster University. He has earned the Certified Green Building Professional designation from the National Association of Home Builders and is a former board member of the Home Builders Association of Greater Kansas City.  

Kohen resides in Overland Park with his wife Veta and their three children.
