Michael moved to Kansas City with his family from Milwaukee in 1968. He graduated Southwest High School and Park College with a degree in English literature. He was employed by Barnes and Noble on the Plaza for 15 years and was regarded as an expert in literature and all genres of music.
Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Rosette. He is survived by his father, Sol Koenigsberg; sister, Beth Koenigsberg; cousins in the Detroit area and some in other USA cities and France.
