The dinner and gifts indicate the love, joy and happiness that everyone had to share with her. Those who attended included her sister-in-law, Sylvia Fehr Soule of Overland Park, Kansas, and her best friend of more than 65 years, since she was in high school, Helen Brown of Leawood.
Irene’s family came from near and far — children Stephanie and Don Fehr (Rye Brook, New York), Steve Fehr and Cynthia Wendt (Leawood) and Jerry and Lori Fehr (Leawood); grandchildren Rachel Fehr (San Francisco), Elyse Fehr (Ocala, Florida), Dr. Mark and Tuba Fehr (Bethesda, Maryland), David and Kathryn Fehr (Chicago), Alex Fehr (Leawood), Tom Fehr (Leawood), Ali and Patrick McDonald (San Jose, California), Dani Lester (Chicago) and Hannah Gilgus (Leawood); and her great-grandchildren, Arabella, Judah and Juniper McDonald (San Jose), Lydia Fehr (Bethesda, Maryland) and Naomi Fehr (Chicago). Also in attendance were nieces and nephews Caryn and Mike Rains, Josh and Stacy Rains, Jude Branning and Asher Rains, all of Overland Park, Deborah Farber (Chicago), Evin Isaccson (Washington, D.C.), Dana Sanders and her friend Ken Cohn of Overland Park and cousins Gail and Richard Lozoff of Overland Park.
Those who couldn’t attend but sent birthday wishes included her grandson Sam Lester (Chicago), her granddaughter Caroline Fehr and her friend Adam Bort (Washington, D.C.), her granddaughter’s friend Chris Mankiewicz (San Francisco), her cousins Inez Kaufman (Carlsbad, California), Harriet Prevan (Overland Park), and her niece Diane Abrams (Overland Park).
