‘The Gateway to Trusting G-d’ just released

A New Paraphrased Translation of “The Gateway to Trusting G-d,” the Fourth Gate in Rabbi Bechaya’s classic, “Duties of the Heart,” by Rabbi Zevi Wineberg, has just been released.

What is unique about this translation — though there have been a few previous — is that unlike the traditional method of translation, whereby a person schooled both in the source and translating language, as well as hopefully the content, makes an accurate rendition having the benefit of being faithful to the original source. However, the original was written for a specific mindset, not to mention presupposing often a fair amount of background scholarship. This paraphrased translation looks merely at the content; and while faithfully rewriting the content, does so to make it comprehensible to the mindset of the modern reader.

“It is my hope — particularly in these highly stressful times — this elixir of life, a work which literally can bring a person the absolutely amazing benefit of faith, namely tranquility, will reach as many people as possible,” said Rabbi Wineberg of Chabad House. “A Jewish Harvard professor did a study and people merely reading this work have a better rate of recovery from depression than meds.”

Anyone interested can read, free of charge, this book on Rabbi Wineberg’s website, kabbalahwisdom.org (under the self-help tab) or purchase the book from www.amazon.com (also available on Kindle).
