Call for artists for Jewish Family Services art event

Jewish Family Services is about making connections, helping people through life’s daily challenges as well as in times of crisis.

Appropriately, JFS has chosen “Connection” as the theme of its upcoming virtual art exhibition and benefit hosted by the Buttonwood Art Space. The search is on for artists to submit works for inclusion in the juried art show. Artists are encouraged to enter works that inspire connection, whether that be to others, the community, the environment or however the artist interprets the theme of “connection.”

Various media will be considered, including paintings, photographs, 3D pieces, fiber works, ceramics and more. Artists may submit up to five pieces for the “Connection” exhibit with no entry fee. Submissions are being taken until 4 p.m. on June 2. Submit by completing an Artist Profile with Buttonwood Art Space at www.buttonwoodartspace.com/artist-login.php.

Once selected, artwork will be on display online beginning July 3 and continuing through Sept. 24. All works are for sale with 50% of the proceeds going to the artist and the other 50% benefitting JFS and its programs and services. Various virtual programs centered on the Connection exhibit are in the works.
