Rabbi Stephen Allen Karol and Donna Kay Handelman Siani announce their engagement.
Rabbi Karol, a Kansas City native, is the son of the late Ruth and Joseph Karol. He attended the University of Wisconsin, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology. Now the rabbi emeritus at Temple Isaiah of Stony Brook, New York, he was ordained at Hebrew Union College, where he also earned a Master of Arts degree in Hebrew letters and a Doctor of Divinity degree. Rabbi Karol is a member of the Central Conference of American Rabbis.
Ms. Siani is the daughter of Joan Handelman and the late Daniel Handelman. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in music with a concentration in business administration from State University of New York at Fredonia. She is the owner and teaches piano at Donna Siani Music Studio in St. James, New York. She also teaches music at Harbor Country Day School in St. James.
A Sept. 4 wedding at Temple Isaiah in Stony Brook is planned.
