There will be a familiar face around the halls of Beth Torah this coming year as congregants and children come into the synagogue for lifelong learning opportunities. Bridey Stangler has been hired by Beth Torah as congregational director of education for the upcoming year.
Stangler has more than a decade of experience in the Jewish community working in youth and family programming and is looking forward to adding to the Beth Torah programming for learners of all ages.
“I’m so excited to be back working with the Jewish community and there couldn’t be a more warm and welcoming place than Beth Torah,” Stangler said this week.
“I’ve been so impressed in the last few weeks with the incredible positivity and energy. {mprestriction ids="1,3"}It’s an organization that is going through a great deal of change and everybody is embracing it and looking forward to a really bright future,” she continued.
Stangler joined the staff at Beth Torah in July and has already begun meetings with teachers, families and community program coordinators to ensure that the Beth Torah families prepare for a year of Jewish meaning and joy through learning.
Rabbi Rick Shapiro said the Beth Torah staff is excited to have Stangler on board.
“She brings an energy and creativity to her work that will be a real asset to our ongoing educational efforts. And as an added bonus, she is an extremely hard worker and a quick study. She is very familiar with Beth Torah, and is known by many in our congregation as an innovative educator who is not deterred by the all-too-common ‘been there, done that,’ refrain that all of us in synagogue life hear,” Rabbi Shapiro said.
Stangler is available for questions regarding the Weiner Religious School and other learning opportunities at Beth Torah at or by calling the Beth Torah office at 913-498-2212. Stangler will also be available to answer questions at the upcoming Congregation Beth Torah Membership and Movie Night: A Family Affair event on Aug. 15.{/mprestriction}
